PLOT:
In Planetside 2, the story takes place around 300 years after the planet Auraxis was discovered. After a huge war breaks loose on planet Earth, world`s government come to an understanding of a union and called it the Terran Republic. Resources were almost depleted and it was almost impossible to live on earth anymore. There was a worm-hole appearance for a short while and then it disappeared which made ex-president of the Terran Republic Tom Connery decided to explore other habitable planets and star systems so that the human race would survive in existence. He always thought this was a sign.
First exploration ship was sent off to Moon Belt and there was the signs of alien life forms so then Connery decided to take a peak deeper into the space. But it was harsh times and the expedition trip was taking way too long so it was decided to get voted to either stop this sensless search or keep going until they were able to find a hint or even a life form or planet. It was voted positively for keep going but it was a close call so then there came the choice for a second vote but then hell broke loose. There was a terrorist bombing on the ship so everybody died during the bombing including Connery.
Later on with the help of these expeditions, planet Auraxis was discovered. As a perk that came with it was the Vanu (Ancient) technology which was the "Rebirthing Chambers". Main idea was to revive anyone with the smallest dna sample they had so the fear of loosing or dying was out of the equation from that day on. Though the technology was banned to be used but some scientists kept on experimenting who were to be called "Vanu Sovereignty. But Terran Republic wanted to control this power which led another group of people to be formed called New Conglomerate who were against the research on this new technology to be used.
What has been happening in the last almost 200 years is the ongoing war between Terran Republic and New Conglomerate with Vanu Sovereignty got caught in the middle. War never stops...nobody wins an eternal war....
EMPIRES:
TERRAN REPUBLIC:
Terran Republic is set on a foundation of Law and Order. They process on a highly militarized system. Government weights down full authoritiy with strict ruling system which may seem as a dictatorship to some. Although it is based on rules and regulations, most believes that it is a necessity to confirm the last stand security on Auraxis.
VANU SOVEREIGNTY:
Vanu Sovereignty purely depends on technology as its base of understandings. They harness the alien technology to expand their horizons and constantly trying to find new ways to process this technology into even more advanced weaponary. Their sole purpose is to uncover the mysteries of ancient alien ruins all over the Auraxis and get rid of anyone who tries to stop them reaching their goal.
NEW CONGLOMERATE:
As a complete opposing force to Terran Republic, New Conglomerate is formed by rebels and outcasts who believe in complete freedom. Although their main purpose seems a bit vague compared to the other two of the Empire forces, they still believe in pure form of freedom on Auraxis and try to give it to their own people by seizing the battlefield.
CLASSES:
There are 6 main classes for all the empires which works in the similar principles but the armor looks are distinctive for each of their own.
Although Combat Medic can hold it`s own on the offensive side, defensive and supportive role is where he shines. They use rifles to aid their allies in tactical combat but true power comes from the nanite-powered devices that help them heal or any other support activites such as getting rid of the harmful debuffs cast on their team members.
Another skill that the combat medic can aid with its team is the resurruction skills. Even though an ally goes down; if a combat medic is around, there is no problem. He will help the member to get up and keep going as long as that medic is around.
Light Assault is a good face paced front liner. They carry a carbine that is at best on mid to close range combat. They are deadly members when they keep moving and shooting all at once. Since a light assault is not equipped with high armor value, it is crucial for them to keep moving on the battlefield.
Arsenal they get is not limited with a weapon. They also carry around very usefull gadgets such as flashbangs and smoke grenades which can be used more towards the offensive support roles to disorient enemies and take them down before they come to their sense.
Heavy Assault excells where light assault is forced to fall back at times. They are tough front liners with a good armor and a regenerative shield that helps them soak up a lot of damage while keep pushing the front lines into the enemy territory. Heavy Assault is best at close range combat due to its ability to withstand the enemy damage longer than most of the other classes.
As secondary weapons; instead of different types of gadgets, they carry around heavy anti-air launchers which can be very effective for a sudden aerial attack on they and their allies on the battlefield. Combined with a combat medic, heavy assault can be great at pushing the enemy territory boundaries with no problem.
Engineers are the true supports on the battlefield. The use of carbines as wepons help them take down enemies in close up to mid range but their power lies in utility skills. They can deploy turrets to help both in offensive and defensive side. They also can use the shield generator skill which helps the whole squad to be on the safe side.
Even though they are good at supporting their allies on the attacks, engineers shine when they are on the defensive side. On their own territory, they can create an impenetrable fortress for the enemy forces for defense and can hold until the reinforcements arrive.
Max is the prototype exoskeleton for the use of only the finest soldiers which wrecks havoc on the battlefield. They lack the shield generator which keeps them alive on the that sense, but they have one tough exoskeleton which can take up of immense amount of damage coming from the enemy.
Masically Max are the best tanks on the battlefield and also can be a very good diversion for the rest of the squad to infiltrate while they keep the focus of the enemy on themselves.
Infiltrators are the stealth class of Planetside 2. They are best if hidden in a distance which is what an infiltrator is supposed to do. They have the cloaking device which makes them invisible to the human eye and carry around one of the most powerful weapons which is the sniper rifle. Although they lack the rate of fire on their weapons, they usually hide far away from the action taking the enemy forces one by one and aiding their team.
Aside from their stealth abilities, infiltrators also get other recon utilities to carry the needed information on the enemy to its allies without getting noticed which may be a crucial point to win a war.
